If one was late to her class for any reason, excused or not, they would be required to recite a poem to Mrs. M. This was if it was only the individual’s first time being late. The second time one was late they would be required to sing her poem to the melody of any song. If and only if you are late a third time, you had to sing and dance. This is humiliating and does not actually accomplish anything. The poem goes as follows:
“Dear Mrs. M, I apologize for my lateness, as it will never happen again. There is nothing more important than this class. You are the best English teacher known to man. I vow to not be later …show more content…
M that I also found to be blame worthy. In general she would give preferential treatment to students that brownnosed. You might ask why it is such a big deal to me. It wouldn’t normally bother me except that the brownnosing was blatant and obvious manipulation. The students S and A was a favorite of Mrs. M. When asked questions Mrs. M would seem to favor their responses, seldom challenging what they claimed. When other students would ask something she was very impatient and critical of them if she felt that she had already addressed the student’s question. Her preferential treatment of students was both annoying and distracting. These actions are blameworthy for the simple reason of equality and fairness, especially in the classroom. A necessary part of education is the teacher to student interaction. Throughout the school year in Mrs. M’s class, her preferential treatment of students took away from the otherwise effectiveness of her teaching. The overall atmosphere in my opinion is vital to the educational experience. If this could be avoided, I believe the educational experience would be strengthened
