I feel as though I'll be a great candidate for my dream job as a psychiatrist or therapist because of my love for helping the people around me my volunteer work with the organization BuildOn and my job working for The Field Museum. I constantly find myself wondering why people do the things they do and what goes on in the mind of human beings. These reasons have truly impacted my life in a positive way and have influenced my decision to work in the health industry.
Since I was a kid I loved helping people around me and as I got older my passion for helping the people around me started to grow even more. My friends see me as a young mother figure to them because I always make sure that they are making the right decisions and even if they make mistakes I talk to them to see what led up to their choice and I make sure that they never make the same decision again. In my life I try to stay positive and what helps me is my favorite quote ”Everything happens for a reason”. The homeless people I’ve helped have always been grateful for BuildOn helping them with their struggles. In 2014 I was helping a beautiful soul who lived in the shelter named Leslie and she was telling me her story of how she became homeless. She explained that things got hard for her and her kids when she lost her job and she was unable to support herself and her children so the system ended up taking the kids from her and as she began to cry just talking about her past my heart ached for her and wished I could help her out. After listening to a story like Leslie’s I wanted always wanted to make a difference in someone’s life no matter how small the impact is I wanted to make sure that everyone can see me as someone who they can talk to and feel comfortable

I have always tended toward helping those who are the underdogs or that are struggling with issues. I find it easy to understand people and I believe that insight would make Neuropsychology the perfect career choice for me. In my mother's case I believe it is her attitude toward her illness that has kept her in such good health. For the aforementioned reason she is well on her way to becoming the oldest surviving person with Fanconi's and also why I find such amazement in the relationship between biology, the chemistry that goes with it and…

Through our project, we raised awareness of the need in our community and the resources that are there to help, such as the Good Shepherd Center. By our research and service to the community, I believe that we made an impact on some of the women that were recipients of the purses and the effort behind them. I also know that the shelter is appreciative of the service we performed. This project was a blessing to me because it showed me what an impact we can make in our community with something as small as a purse. It’s a reflection of taking something that is simple and making a difference with it.…

I’ve never been able to decline help to someone in need. I always put everyone else's needs before my own because when I sacrifice myself in order to put a smile on someone else’s face it gives me peace. Contributing to a cause to make the world a better place is worth the sleepless nights. When one is passionate about helping people it won’t matter to them how long they have to go without food or how tired they will feel at the end of the day.
