EDUC 1713: Introduction to Public Education In Intro Into Public Education, there was a lesson about what type of learners the students were. There were many students in the class that were musical learners. Many people find it easier to learn with by music or rhythms. Many of the researchers were from different cultures, so they thought it was important to teach different cultures and their music because they want to keep their culture alive in the classrooms. Some of the teachers being interviewed were completely honest in their interviews. They were realistic about what they would want to teach and what they could teach. The interviewers also saw that not many teachers were teaching different cultural music in their classrooms. They noted that they could possibly teach the music in a different time of the year. One student said “I watched my teacher teach a song from Southern Africa called Sabunana Kusasa from an old ABC school song book. The teacher explained what the Zulu words meant and where these people live in South Africa. This was really good for the kids to know and it got even better when he gave the children drums and they performed the song in a circle. The kids really got into this song and the movements really quickly.” However, another student did not agree. He said, “I was surprised because as I learnt this as a song from Israel but it was taught in English and there was no explanation about where the song came from.” Most of the interviewers and interviewees thought that the different cultural music in classrooms was a great idea. Not only does it get the kids attention and spark creativity, but they also learn about the different cultures of the world
