If I Were A Boy Beyonce Analysis

The type of music a person listens to affects the way a person perceives the world. Music is a way for artists to express themselves and their feelings to listeners. Listeners often enjoy certain songs because of the emotions they feel while listening. Music is full of hidden meaning, for example, “If I Were a Boy” by Beyoncé explains the difficulties of a relationship, how men don’t understand women, and how she would treat a girl better if she were a man; however, not all men treat women poorly. Relationships can be very difficult as explained by Beyoncé throughout her song, “If I Were a Boy”. Relationships require effort from both people; however, if there is a lack of effort, it can lead to someone feeling like they are being taken for granted. During “If I Were a Boy,” Beyoncé repeatedly expressed this feeling, “Cause I know how it hurts, when you lose the one you wanted cause he’s taken you for granted”.
