The United States is composed of a multicultural population. As mentioned by Creative Nursing, “The United States has always been a culturally diverse nation, but never before has the significance of the nations’ diversity been as obvious or important as it is today” (Abriam-Yago, Yoder, & Kataoka-Yahiro, 1999; Guy, 1999; Omeri, Malcolm, Ahern, & Wellington, 2003) (R.K. Adeniran & M.E. Smith-Glasgow, page 53). With increasing multiculturalism comes new realms of diversity. “Not only are there more immigrants, but increasingly they speak languages and bear cultures that are quite different from those brought by European immigrants in the past” (D.S. Massey, abstract).

Kumi-Yeboah and W. B. James, page 13). According to Ruple, Lee and Dalton, Malcom Knowles proposed the idea that adult learning must have a sense of relatability (J. Ruple, W. W. Lee, A.T. Dalton, page 61). Through multicultural education students can not only learn more about their peers, but it could help relate learning to their everyday lives. Other than self-directed learning, simulations and safe environments healthcare educators must provide evaluation. Students learn at individual paces Evaluations adhere to the need of teaching a diverse population because as Ruple, Lee and Dalton point out “There can be a variety of opinions and view points on an issue” and “lt is possible to evaluate different perspectives through reasoning and judgment” (J.A. Ruple, W.W. Lee & A.T. Dalton, page 57).
In regards to radiography, one example of how radiography complies with the importance of evaluation is having experienced lab instructors available during simulation. Another example would be on-site clinical instructors that evaluate students on competencies and grade them on their everyday
