Going to the movie theater used to serve as a special day to me, usually spent with my family or friends for an event. Going to the theaters and buying the popcorn, candy and soda was a big day out for my family. As the prices rise, and we get older and our lives are busy, we go less and less. A trip to the movies can cost up to $30, depending on what you are buying. The last time I went to the movie theater I was babysitting, it was a place that would keep the kids entertained for two hours, and I got to watch a movie I enjoyed. When we first moved to Maryland we did not have the cable set up yet, all we had was The Wizard of Oz, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on VHS. I watched those movies so many times that I wore the tape out. I can still watch those two movies on replay for as long as I can sit still. The memories that come from those movies make me happy and comfortable. They bring me back to a more simple time, and it’s a nostalgic feeling when I watch those movies. I find when I am stressed out, putting on a movie, whether it be for background noise, or to sit down and watch, they relax me. Allowing an outlet for myself helps me get things done, and I actually do most of my homework with some kind of background noise
