Motivation is like starting your first day of University, it is like a rollercoaster, one day you’re up and ready to give the day everything you got and the next is a complete waste. It is very hard for a firm to motivate its individuals; this essay will discuss the importance of motivated employees and methods in which a firm can consolidate intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to further enhance motivation. This is important as without a motivated workforce, a firm will not be able to utilise it resources efficiently and therefore would lose money. A firm can act in many ways, but the most important way is by knowing and understanding your employees. Walt Disney is a successful company and has shown that through its ‘$8.3 billion’ net income figure in 2015. Motivation is the foundation for any firm as the workers are at the heart of the company and what they do, decides the outcome of a business.
