It seems reasonable to suggest, however, that bad leadership has become more visible - an effect, perhaps, of advances in information technology, the rising influence of civil society, and the empowerment of people everywhere through better education.
These points to an important fact: we live in a new age, an age of transition from an old world order to a new one. Every day brings fresh evidence of the collapse of old ideas and institutions and the blossoming of new ones.

What personal values and beliefs will sustain you though a crisis? Does a huge change shake your faith or make it stronger? Does it make you search for answers? Life-changing events cause each of us to review our priorities and our values, and adapt or change those that do not help us through the event. Huge changes in our world can cause temporary changes in how we express our values that end when the event or the threat from the event ends. It is also amazing how we each have our own resiliency .
