However, people tend to have unhealthy mental health, where a lot of mental health issues or diseases can be seen among the group of people. As Hong Kong is a city with fast pace of living, people usually have insufficient time to relax or enjoy leisure life. The repetition and accumulation of this similar lifestyle per day causes them to feel pressure and stress on the workload, and that people always fear not being able to catch the pace, causing them to fight for a lot of stuff without leaving time to rest. One of the reason is that it is easy for us to have the difficulty on adapting the university lifestyle from secondary school life, either not being able to adjust their social circle or academic work into a different style. Some students can feel worried very easily without any concrete reason (What Are Anxiety Disorders?, n.d.). This usually occurs among year one freshman who are trying hard to adapt the new university life. It is easy for them to fear about the new challenges they have to face. For example, facing dorm life with a completely new group of people, being a member in a certain society and work on things that were never faced during secondary school, and facing classmates that are more competitive and outstanding than secondary schoolmates. These mental illnesses of university students commonly come from two different factors: academically and socially. In terms of the academic aspect, it is usually found that students have stress by dealing numerous workloads. The gigantic number of deadlines within a short time causes students to have vicious cycles. For example, when an individual has a lot of work, they will sleep less to complete the work, so they will end up feeling tired or waking up late in weekends. The student will then feel unsatisfied about the productivity of work progress, and ended up staying late to work on assignments, which comes back to the beginning of the cycle. Apart from stress, peer pressure is another reason of having mental illnesses among students. Students like to compare results with each other as they are competitive individuals.
