The Importance Of Member Education

We know an important part of developing the whole woman is preparing her for life after graduation. With the future in mind, we cultivate leaders and develop strong women. We motivate our members to assume responsibility, take risks, serve their communities and achieve worthy goals. For it is only then that we can begin to transform our community and the world. Kappa seeks to help members become the women they aspire to be.
Every Member Education (EME) will serve to reinforce the mission and values of Northern Arizona University by engaging students and encouraging them to make an impact in the community. It focuses on seven, defined core educational values known as our Pillars of Education:

Below are some examples from our EME online portal. Leadership Development
Leadership development is an integral part of the Kappa experience and ensures that our members embrace the idea of women elevating women.
Like NAU, we want to integrate a global focus by instilling the values of integrity and service from the very beginning of a member’s Kappa journey.
From day one, members are encouraged to explore leadership roles within their chapters, specifically through the chapter committee structure.

The Kappa chapter at NAU will be expected to meet or exceed the all-sorority average on campus. We expect every member of our chapter to positively contribute to this average.
New members must demonstrate an academic interest and have attained at least a “B+” average or its equivalent under any other grading system from high school or at least a “B-“ average or its equivalent under any other grading system for the previous completed term as a full-time student at a college or university.
In order to serve as a chapter officer, a member must attain at least a
“B-“ average or its equivalent for the previous term. Establishing a culture of service among our members is an important way
Kappa encourages women to make a difference. When it comes to philanthropic endeavors, we put an emphasis on service to others and raising funds. Like NAU students, our members find inspiration in creating a better environment that affects positive change.
Our philanthropic ideology focuses on efforts in three areas: local organizations, Reading Is Fundamental and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.
We know inspiration often comes from personal connections.
