A new type of online course a student is able to take today is called a MOOC. MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course. (Educase Library) This course is open to the online public. This allows anyone who is interested in learning about a particular course at a very low cost or for free. Those in traditional college classes could possibly not learn from daydreaming or tuning into their cellular devices, with MOOCs, a student can directly learn from their professor with thousands of students by their side. MOOCs are the change in higher education. Many MOOCs are being acknowledged as college credit and should be by majority of colleges and universities in the mere future. MOOCs should be accounted for as college credit by, professors improving their lecture types for students, MOOCs designed for keeping pace with the course, and the variety of the courses presented for a future career
