There are many benefits of having money and all the luxury that money can buy, but we should never neglect and set aside all the things that money can’t. The second mantra that I will live by especially in my business is an aphorism given by Jonathan Swift which is “A wise man keeps money in his mind but out of his heart”. In the business setting, if I develop a strong love or desire for money, I would do everything and almost anything to get it without considering others, without considering how it will affect the feelings and lives of my customers, employees and even my competitors and without considering how it will directly affect me and my business in the long run. Usually these actions involves unethical means like lying, false advertising, and even terminating employees who go against the practices. Bottom line is if you do not appreciate what you have and have love for money, you’ll never be happy and successful. There is a certain limitation on possessions on earth, and money is one of them. I just need to clearly know where I want to go. If I want my business to be successful, I should do something and put an effort into making the dream a reality. This principle makes me realize what path or directions I should follow to get me to places. If I undergo an ethical decision making and follow it, it surely would take me to a better status in the competitive world. The brain of the business would be the entrepreneur or the owner and the body is the employees, stockholders and customers. The brain simply dictates the body the directions it needs to take to become successful. If you want to go to a better place, do what would be good for you, the employees and the business.
