"The scholar does not consider gold and jade to be precious treasures, but loyalty and good faith." -Confucius. Loyalty is a quality that everyone looks for in an individual as it is considered a very powerful attribute. Loyalty is a difficult notion to define, because this term has many different perceptions and definitions. Many see this term as meaning a strong feeling of support or allegiance, while other people see it as an attitude of devotion or attachment combined with affection. Included in both of those beliefs, someone can also say that it stands for respect, honesty, love, and patience. While all of these views are true, in a typical sense of viewing loyalty, there needs to be a better and simpler way to define the term. A new and …show more content…
Such as someone being loyal to the United States of America. Someone can be loyal to their country intellectually by voting. This way someone is using their constitutional rights to express their way of thinking and staying involved in the outcome of their country. An individual can also be loyal to their country physically, by enlisting in the Army. Although there are many other ways to be physically loyal to the country, this is the best way to demonstrate loyalty to the United States. When someone enlists they are showing their devotion by protecting and defending the United States. Another way to show loyalty to one's country is emotionally. People show emotional loyalty to their country by participating in the pledge. This shows an individual's emotional commitment to the United States. There are many different ways to act out loyalty, such as loyalty to your country, spouse, and religion. You act out loyalty every day without even thinking about it. I am sure that you show devotion to your job and family. This is loyalty. Daily I am emotionally loyal to my country. I am thankful to be able to live in the United States of America, also known as the land of the free. My spouse and I are loyal to each other in every way. I support him in his career goals and life choices, and we stay faithful to each other, and I have given him my whole heart. Then there is my loyalty to my religion and God my father. I pray every day and try to follow God's word to the best of my ability. I am faithful to the Lord our God in heaven. Loyalty is a powerful and respectable quality in anyone.
