With the rapid development of the society, the living standard of people is getting better. However, people also become busier than before, they do not have enough spare time to pay attention to their daily diet and healthy. There is an old proverb in China which is disease enters by the month, so the dietary habit is very important for everyone, and keep a low-fat diet is an easy and effective way to keep healthy. Although low-fat diet is not a strange phrase for us, the actual relationship between fat and health is still unknown by the public. In this essay, the way of fat affect the health is determined through the research, and discussions about the benefits of low-fat diet are also given. First one is unsaturated fat which is a common fat in our daily life, for example, the olive oil and peanut butter that we almost eat every day, they are made from unsaturated fat. It includes the omega-6 fatted acid to support our brain and body. Second, saturated fat is a type of fat from animal products, such as meat, dairy products, and palm oils. This type of fat is unhealthy for our body, it may increase the risk of Type 2 diabetes. Finally, the most harmful fat for people’s health is trans fat, most trans fat comes from baked goods, snack foods, fried food and other processed foods. Trans fat can increase the risk of heart disease. Therefore, intake of fat is an indispensable part for humans, but for a healthy body, between 20 and 35 percent of your total daily calories should come from fat which belongs low-fat diet. In 2016, an interview with physician and professor of medicine and epidemiology JoAnn E. Manson is presented (03). In this interview, the professor said: “ This study suggests that the low-fat diet may be benefits for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and for women who have an increased risk of breast cancer.” (“Health For Her” 03). Therefore, the result of these studies can prove that low-fat diet can reduce the risk of cancer for women. At present, high blood pressure and heart disease is a common disease and most elders died because of them. Whitaker Phil argued that the low-fat diet is responsible for the reduce the risk of heart disease and hypertension (81). To sum up, this paper argues that the fat effect our healthy, and low-fat diet can help people to maintain physical fitness and keep disease away. For example, it can help people lose weight, reduce the risk of ovarian cancer and breast cancer, and also decrease the hazard of heart disease and hypertension. In the future, I recommend that people should eat low-fat food, such as different kind of vegetables and fruits. And in order to keep the healthy, it is necessary for citizens to think seriously before they decide to eat high-fat
