The Importance Of Long Term Homelessness

"Oh you live in Longview, Washington?" A term that is stated way to often when someone reply they live there. Dispaportioned assumptions of the town are often made by those who have never even been. Before Washington passed the law were people could no longer pan handle, it wasn't an unusual sight to see a homeless man on the side of the road holding a sign. "Homeless anything helps" is an example of one of the many signs would state.

It’s important especially to start giving help to people who are young to help keep them going in the right path. The youth who are out of home, dealing with mental illness, or finding the right path for school and work. They are what we consider “at risk” they are at risk for long term homelessness, high chances of getting themselves involved in the system; in and out of jail, owing court fines. Becoming gang members in order to seek out a sense of “family”. Also including with adults they are higher chance of dumpster diving or panhandling. For this service people would be able to seek out help on figuring out whether going back to school would be a good option. Any help that might be needed during this process finding the right school and programs can be done there. They will also help with filing any paper work or finding the right forms you would need to turn in. Once you’re enrolled in school they will offer tutoring services as well or resources to find you a tutor. After you graduated, received a degree, or going back to school isn't in the plan they'll help with employment. Creating a good resume is key when trying to land a job. They would also be able to prep you for interviews and help find clothing for interviews or jobs you get hired for. Or even seek out better
