All of the respondents stated the religious practices have reduced their loneliness. Three respondents believed in continuously religious practices have made them hold on to the power of faith and trusted in their destiny. As a result, they are willing to accept the fate that they are live in loneliness. Since all respondents are Muslim, thus the religious practices that described in this study are based on the Islamic teaching.

According to five respondents, they preoccupied themselves by doing favorite activities, caring for pets and planting flowers or vegetables can distract them from thinking about life which indirectly reduces their loneliness. While two respondents believed favorite activities is a strategy used to reduce loneliness. Meanwhile, two respondents stated that 'physical activity' prevents them to experience loneliness.

“...of course I like cat and Comot (her cat) are very important in my life. I talk to him as I talk to a friend. He was the one who accompanied me day and night. • Maintain optimal health status
The fourth theme was 'maintain optimal health status'. Three respondents believed maintaining an optimal health helps to decrease the level of loneliness among the older adult. Out of these, two respondents explained that maintaining optimal health status especially physical health may reduce their potential to experience loneliness. In additions, two respondents believed maintaining the spiritual health made their inner soul stronger so that they do not experience loneliness and can make the older adult more calmly.
