The Importance Of Life In The Crucible

The Crucible is about trails that are happening during the Salem witch era, as people during this time were suspicious of everyone they knew. They turned their backs on their neighbors, and sometimes even their family to get back at people they disliked and to get revenge. Before long, a witch hunt takes place trying to find anyone who is in suspicion and bring them to court. A crucible’s definition is a place or occasion of severe test or trial as the group of girls that are the accuses are the actual guilty people here for “dancing in the woods (dictionary.com).” In act 4 Hale says “Life is the most precious gift and nothing may justify taking it.” I disagree with this statement because in some cases your own life is not as important as a multitude of other people’s lives. …show more content…
It is a fact that life is given to you by your parents and because of God. I know that in different religions life is important because of how short your own life is. Compared to old Greek mythology the fact that you are human gives you a certain freedom to make your own decisions. Instead of living for an eternity like gods, this is your one chance to live however you want it to be. You are your own person, and your life is important, as there are many people who love you, including God.
