As a loving grandparent and mentor to me, the thought of losing the conversations we had and her being unable to recognize me left me devastated. I am very focused and hardworking person. I paid my way through school while balancing multiple jobs, taking care of family members like my grandmother, and still succeeded in graduating. My passion for people is borne of my experiences living on various continents and realizing how much better the word will be if many had access to affordable healthcare. I owe so much to my grandmother for making me the woman I am today; one who is caring, honest, ambitious and responsible. Watching her slowly lose her reasoning faculties under the crushing weight of Alzheimer 's continues to strengthen my determination to use my life and education to help many like her who have sacrificed so much so that people like me can have a good life. I am confident in my abilities to be successful at pursuing a career in pharmacy and I look forward to a favorable decision regarding my
