Walking in English 1101 at 11:30 am for the first time thinking, “this class is going to be easy. It’s just like repeating high school English all over again.” My mindset at the time didn’t know that it was a lot more I needed to learn to improve my writing, reading, and thinking skills. I didn’t think that college composition was going to be difficult, because in high school English was easy. I thought I was going to walk out the class at the end of the semester with an easy A. So, make sure you using your time efficiently and wisely. Writing is a process and you can’t skip or half do a step-in writing. Rarely ever could someone sit down in one sitting and come up with this amazing paper. That has no errors, correctly grammar, and all around a perfect piece of writing. Even the most experience writers go through a lot steps to make their papers perfect. Depending on how much time you have until your paper due. You should take almost half of the time to plan and research your information. If you take the time out to plan your writing in greater details it will make the writing process so much easier. You also should have a routine when it comes to writing. Do you like writing at night or early in the morning? Do you like writing in your room, park, or at the library? Do you like listening to music while you write? Having a writing routine help your thinking process when it’s time to write. I also learned that in your writing you cannot be vague, because your readers aren’t mind reader. So, they cannot completely understand your point of view unless you take the time out and explain everything in your writing. In writing overly explaining your ideas is not a thing. Just try not to be redundant. Even though I have learned a lot about writing, and I am trying to improve my writing skills.
