Example Of A Leadership Interview

Great Essays
I interviewed two leaders from my life, that I knew I could learn something from. I tried to find leaders with styles that I was not learning in school or did not agree with. I figured this would be a good way to learn as much as possible. I digitally recorded and took notes on both interviews.

The first one I choose was the pastor of my church. I choose him because he leads more than just a team, his role requires him to also lead the congregation and sometimes the public. There are times when he leads indirectly. I found out in the interview, that ends up being most of the time. One way in which he does this is by he making suggestions that lets people choose for themselves, sometimes with a little persuasion in a certain direction.

For the second leader I choose to interview, I decided on someone that I used to work with. He was two steps above me on the ladder, and we were both leaders within the company. I worked with him for about a year and a half, but then I moved on to another company. We often had different solutions to the same problem, and that 's is a big reason why I chose to interview him. We had different styles of leading our teams, but we had the same results just different ways to get there.

My most significant leadership experience would be when I was in the Girls Varsity Tennis Team. I had been in the tennis team during my highschool years, for 2 years. During that time I learned a lot about being a leader, such as what it means to lead others, and what qualities a leader should have. When I first started playing tennis I started at the position on 2nd doubles, to me I took it as that I was not good enough to play against an opponent by myself on the court. Which was entirely true, because when I began playing I was not any good whatsoever.…

The people that I chose to interview were Todd Fetters, Paul Fetters, Jacob Johnson, Nick Miller and Joni Schmalzried. The reason why I chose these people is because they are people that I respect who have had roles of leadership in various settings in ministry. Some have worked as youth pastors, others have taught ministry classes, and others have pastored at churches. But there is one person that I interviewed who is not a leader in Christian ministry but the way that they have impacted my life lead me into ministry. I found that it was hard for my interviewees to define leadership and rather they wanted to give characteristics or qualities of leaders, which I think is just as beneficial.…
