Reflection Of Group Leader

For this term, Cileena Shakur was our team leader. Overall, she did very well in leading our team to be successful for term 4. She was concerned with both the tasks at hand as well as the relationships with the team members, which takes time and commitment from her part and the rest of the team members (Harris and Sherblom, 2010, p. 228). From the very start, Cileena took charge with getting our Powerpoint setup and making sure that each aspect of our presentation was complete and ready to go for each day. Before every meeting, Cileena would prepare the Powerpoint ahead of time and input the topics that were needed to be discussed in our presentation. Cileena is a very organized leader. She was our reporter for the term. Emily is a very organized person. She is constantly making notes and keeping track of the group’s work; making sure that every idea we say is down on paper (Harris and Sherblom, 2010, p. 46). She does not need the individual role of being the recorder to jot things down; she does it herself. Throughout this term, Emily was more on the quiet side and focused on the task at hand during meetings. She made sure that her tasks were completed and that she was prepared to present her slides. One thing about Emily is that she is very enthusiastic, she is always happy and supportive and she has a positive attitude towards our team members which makes our meetings that much more fun (Harris and Sherblom, 2010, p. 46). Emily also tends to be late to our meetings due to sleeping in. In the beginning of meetings, we tend to always ask “Does anyone know where Emily is?” or Chelsea would have to text or call her to ask her when she is coming. Although, once she gets to the meeting, she is always ready to work and is a valuable member of the …show more content…
The extent to which members are loyal and committed to the group, creating a force that binds group members together, describes our group, because we interact very well together. Our group cohesiveness increases our willingness to contribute to the group which as a result, fulfills important tasks easier (Harris and Sherblom, 2010, p. 48). We are a group with wholeness and synergy. Each member has their own thoughts and messages. When put together, as a team, we produce a larger and more creative solution (Harris and Sherblom, 2010, p. 29). We all differ from one another, yet we have the same goal to put in our best effort into achieving a mark that reflects our hard work. Each member of the team has their own relationship with each other. We laugh and make jokes together and we always have a good time working with one another. We are a team that puts time and effort into our work and help each other when needed. Our team has moved past our comfort zone and has moved towards putting out more ideas and having deeper discussions for this term. We are able to communicate more with each other on ideas each member has and deciding as a team, on a solution. Overall, our team has great synergy. We work better as a team and we have successfully completed Term
