Amy has been employed at Publix for over a decade and had the Publix culture instilled in her. Amy was a great communicator who knew how to talk and listen to all types of people. In many businesses communication is the key to being an effective leader (Froschheiser, n.d.). Her and many other supervisors and managers led using a transformational style because the environment Publix has needs a lot of communication to please customers and meet store goals. She also possess adaptability and were able to change as the store changed and were a great problem solver. Amy were knowledgeable about the types of products Publix offered compared to competitor stores which was a good advantage to the stockers because she can remember products that customers needed most that other stores didn’t have. These resources helped her access the quality of how well she was doing her jobs, how well other management did their jobs, how satisfied employees were, career advancements etc. The main goal was to help Publix internally to insure everyone were doing their job and satisfied doing it. HR tools in particular that Publix used were yearly employee satisfaction surveys, key performance indicators, career management tools, and audits (managementtools.ir, n.d.). Twice every month Amy would audit cashiers and baggers to ensure they were saying the correct phrases, leaving the customer with a smile and inviting them back, checking the customer out quickly and bagging correctly. Amy used those audits to help with key performance indicators. Twice a year we would have a meeting to talk about any problems that we, the employees, need to work on and any comments we had to say about management or the store as a whole. Additionally, Amy was there to advise me if I were interested in any programs Publix offered, such as tuition reimbursement that could help me with my education
