Similarly, as Dr. Banks progressed in her attempts to teach the aliens basic words, she noted that these beings are capable to produce not a word but a complete sentence. However, although their sentence is complete, it lacks a defined beginning and ending since it takes a shape of a circle. Although this may be true, it is not entirely correct as these creatures, although they do have a spoken language which is called as Heptapod A and Heptapod B for the written language, Heptapod A is almost negligible as this movie takes more focus on Heptapod B. Banks definitely stirs an awakened sense towards the people of linguistic field. Therefore, as observed, the weak version of how language affects perception is portrayed in the movie. As known, Heptapod B takes the form of a circle and concomitantly the aliens also view time as circular instead of linear whereby this is the opposite of how humans view time. Consequently, when Dr. Banks began to accomplish the language, her perception of time gradually shifted according to how the aliens perceive time resulting in her receiving visions of her past and the future. Nevertheless, while showing how intimate the relationship of language and its effects towards someone’s perception of the world can be, the depiction of this hypothesis in the movie is regarded as beyond anything that is plausible by Birner, (2016) and she also emphasises on how daring this movie is in the way it is being clearly on board with linguistic determinism as most linguists today would not agree to
