Secondly, in the last pages of the book it educates the reader about the animals and plants to see while hiking, or biking on a school function, or for pleasure with friends and family. As I was reading to the kids, it felt like I was taking them to a completely different world, where they were observing animals talking and interacting other animals on a normal day in their natural habitat. It almost gave the illusion as to help others in need , and how to keep the Santa Rosa Plateau thriving.…

Richard & Lockhart (1994) suggests that the teacher should do something to engage the students what was evidenced in the observed class. The Educator opened the lesson asking two questions in Spanish “¿a quién le gustan los animales?” and “¿quién tiene animales en la casa?” what allow the students to activate their prior knowledge regarding the animals.…

My favorite lesson/topic I learned this year was about cannibalism, Jamestown and Disney’s inaccurate movies. I liked learning about Jamestown because when the settlers ran out of food, they ate each other. I also liked learning about this because we got to play Minecraft and build our own little Jamestown. I enjoyed learning about cannibalism in general because I liked seeing Jaylens reaction about everything, and because it was just fun to learn about in general. If someone does cannibalism or “Biggest Fails in History” for ROWVA Chill I'm definitely taking that class.…

Recently, scientists have discovered fossils of an extinct species of turtles that particularly have snouts as noses, similar to a pig. However, because of its snout, it was named Golden's bacon turtle, or Arvinachelys golden. Usually, turtles have one nasal passage in their skulls because of how fleshy their nostrils are. Arvinachelys golden was found by a team from Natural History Museum of Utah and discovered the fossil at the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. In addition, this turtle also had a near completed forelimb, partial hindlimbs, and vertebrae from the neck and tail, unlike any other turtle ever recorded.…

    Why Are Fossils Important

Fossils are considered essential for the study of biological evolution because it gives a blueprint of older species to help connect the dots on how species have changed over time. We can also see what characteristics are still around in the surviving organisms that branched out of older ones. Without fossils being there to help follow the road map of how organisms changed it would be harder to prove how evolution may have occurred in organisms. It was the discovery of fossils that help that crucial part of evolution theory to be true by having real physical evidence of how organisms have changed over long periods of time. Some things that can be learned by studying fossils is how old these organisms used to be.…

Pupils should be able to explore plants, animals including humans, everyday materials and seasonal changes (DfE, 2013). Statutory requirements remain focused around following practical scientific methods and skills through the teaching of science. This can involve encouraging individuals to ask simple questions, performing tests and using observations and recorded data to identify answers (DfE, 2015). Although science is now labelled as a core subject, the Wellcome Trust (2014), suggests that science Is much more than a compulsory subject as it aims to inspire and encourages children to be inquisitive about the planet around them as well as helping children to develop a range of skills which can be used across the curriculum. This is agreed by Beckett (2013), as she describes science as just as important as any other subject as it is so vast and the content learnt can be applied throughout aspects of everyday life.…
