Knowledge management is the process of capturing, developing, sharing, and effectively using organisational knowledge. It refers to a multi-disciplined approach to achieving organizational objectives by making the best use of knowledge (Introduction to Knowledge Management. Anumba, P.M. Carrillo ,2002 ). In addition, implementing knowledge management will give the following benefits.
Firstly, it enables knowledge transfer since construction firms need the knowledge to flow across various stages such as requirement capture to design , design to estimating and estimating to actual construction and so on. This is a key aspect because by using knowledge management as a primary asset improves the workflow within the organisation by making it more efficient and continual improvement.

Firstly, they planned use to a Wiki blog to link their data in one place which will enable several communities to share, edit and post . This will be beneficial for Pochin because it will allow referring data in the future. In addition, workers and other engineers will require training. Another option was to use the existing Pochin forum , but link to a database so that data will be stored locally and can be accessed by everyone in the firm. They chose the internet forum due to ease of accessibility and implementation. After a review, they chose Pochin forum because the employees had the prerequisite knowledge of the system and less training would be needed. As a result, the employees could manage data and link existing business operations leading to faster decisions. In addition, it supports flexibility since employees can get access to data from anywhere in the world . In addition, new data could be added to the forum easily. Hence, it satisfies the goal of using the forum
