He dropped out moved to New York to be more in the music scene. He caught a break when Jay-Z hired him for his beats. As Jay-Z mention him in a song “Kanyeezy you did it again, you a genius nigga” that got him major credit to being one of the best producers in the music game. It was his first album and he used a different style of rapping, as he states in Family Business “a creative wat to rhyme without using knives and guns” this was start of being a diverse rapper. Another song from the album that we can relate to is “All Falls Down” he says “Man I promise, she 's so self-conscious. She has no idea what she 's doing in college. That major that she majored in don 't make no money, But she won 't drop out, her parents will look at her funny Now, tell me that ain 't insecure. The concept of school seems so secure. Sophomore three years aint picked a career. She like fuck it, I 'll just stay down here and do hair.” That verse made it clear that he knows people that are college and are still undecided on their majors. The next major song on the album was Jesus Walks. In this song he talks about god. He clearly states that radio doesn’t want to play his because he raps about god. The Lyrics were so here go my single dog radio needs this, they said you can rap about anything except for Jesus. That means guns, sex, lies, video tape, but if I talk about God my record won 't get played. Huh?” This is a good example on how he will rap about what he wants. One of the biggest songs that he release in The College Dropout was Through the Wire. He was able to record this song with his jaw swollen and stitch up. The Following year he releases Late Registration. He kept going with the college theme. Late
