In my final year of university, I founded a new society, represented the Pharmacist Defence Association in Portsmouth University and studied sufficiently well to graduate with a 2:1. As a pre-registration student, I worked with the Portsmouth CCG to develop a new pharmacy enhanced service, I managed a university society group and I met and passed all the criteria required to qualify as a pharmacist. Presently as a locum pharmacist, I demonstrate my organisational skills by being solely in charge of a community pharmacy. Constantly having to assess the urgency of patients needs versus the daily work requirements of the pharmacy has helped me to firmly establish these skills. Prioritising work has now become second nature to myself and I consistently put the needs of the patient first yet still finding time to complete all my daily work tasks. These experiences as a locum pharmacist enabled me to develop not only community pharmacy experience, but also a valuable and transferable skill set in this fast-paced sector. Looking to work as a hospital pharmacist, I will be able to transfer my skills

I recently had the chance to listen to an entertaining lecture by Dr. Wes Pilkington. As he began talking, I could tell that his speech was going to be somewhat different than those I had heard before him. While he did not do a residency and was not extensively involved in leaderships roles like many of our other speakers, he has still found success after graduation. Although these activities are both important, he highlighted the significance of our rotations. He also offered us a unique perspective on the dangers of pharmacy, as he was the victim of a pharmacy robbery.…
