Julien.Session1.Journal in my life. I would go to church on Sundays with my grandmothers but it never made sense to me. My father’s mom was Methodist and my mother’s mom was Baptist. I was already confused. My parents believed in God but didn’t go to church or it wasn’t necessarily a priority to them. They didn’t make it mandatory or cared if we went to church or not. Some
Sundays, I would go with my father’s mom because church was only an hour and a half. I was baptized Baptist but because of the long service, I became Methodist. I still truly wasn’t fully understanding who God was and how important he would be in my life.

I truly believe and know that God has more in store for me and that I will be elevated even higher in ministry. I just have to stay obedient, focused, and aligned in the things of God. This helped me to make my decision to return to school and attend Colorado Christian University. started working a new job this year as a Postal Police Officer with the United States Postal
Inspection Service. In the process of looking at some schools, I looked into schools that offered discounts to postal employees. I could not fathom why God would want me to serve his church and his people when there were obviously more qualified people he could choose. This was definitely a stumbling block for me early in my ministry. I doubted my abilities and calling and therefore, didn’t totally surrender my life or calling to God. Thankfully, we have a God that, in spite of my weaknesses, used me to further his kingdom and reach people that don’t yet know Him. Those experiences and interactions helped to confirm my calling in full-time…

Growing up, my family and I weren’t very religious by any means. My parents grew up in Catholic families, but when they moved away from their families, they moved away from God too. Every time we were stationed in a new place, my parents always blamed not going to church on the military and how we would always be moving. My sister and I didn’t mind this, because we didn’t really know what church was, and didn’t understand the meaning of it, but when we moved to Louisiana in 2012, I met a friend that would change this. I met this girl Samantha, who seemed to be in a few of my classes.…

Shearer.session1.journal I have had a lot of experiences that have shaped my life over the last five years of my life. The first I would have to say is my rededication to Christ and then the call to the ministry. To start with the rededication of my life to Christ, it was shortly after my separation and I went through a period of time lost and without purpose. My parents had been trying to get me to start going to church again and I was hesitant at first. Soon after starting back to church I was drawn by the Lord to rededicate my life and started to change a lot of things about myself in that time.…

leave and go eat dinner at my grandma house and then go back to church every Sunday evening for youth group. We attended a very large Moravian church, which is a type of Christianity. Every year since I was in second grade I have attended a Moravian camp, up on top of a mountain, for a week every summer. All of my church friends and some of my school friends also attended the camp and there were three summers when I attended the summer camp twice. While at camp there were activities going on all the time such as a sports game, hiking, cards, swimming, or cooking during the day and something going on every night like campfires, movies, singing camp songs, or storytelling.…

My spiritual journey of faith has turned me into more of a “mutt” than a “purebred” Christian because of the variety of denominations and international churches that I have experienced so far in my life. For starters, I grew up in a “every Sunday” church family. In fact, I was at church the very next Sunday after being born. My first church was part of the Assemblies of God. However, a few years later my parents divorced and we ended up at a non-denomination church, where I spent the next 20 years.…

I started to lose myself spiritually and the only time I really thought about going to church was when I was going through something . I 'm not saying that anyone that doesn’t go to church is any less holy than someone who goes every Sunday but the only time I turn to God was when I was in need . As high school teenager it really didn’t seem to have an affect on me. It wasn’t until I hit probably 20-21 that I knew something was not right .…
