Siblings Influenced My Life

Improved Essays
As Pamela Dugdale once said, “Siblings are the people we practice on, the people who teach us about fairness, cooperation, kindness, and caring... quite often the hard way.” Growing up with 4 siblings there is one of them that always stuck by my side and helped me with my problems. My brother, Jake, always found ways to make me smile when I was crying as well as help me be the best person possible. Throughout my life, Jake has been a wonderful teacher, coach, and overall a great influence on me. When others think about where they get their knowledge when they are young, most of the time they think of their parents; however, I think that Jake has had a massive input in mine. He has transferred to many different schools: therefore, he got to meet many different people still, he never complained. From this, he has influenced me to break out of my shell and try new things. I am known to be shy; in this case, I normally do not try new things because I am scared to mess up and have people think low of me. Not only has he influenced me in my life and everyday activities, he has also made an impact with my sports, mainly hockey. He is the one who brings me to practice, even on his days off, when I have no other way to get there. I believe that he does these things because I doubt myself way too much and he wants to help me believe in what I can do. He pushes me to my breaking point and without him doing that I truly think that I would not be where I am today. Even when I am not in a good mood, he does not give up on me. There are times when I am training with him and he would push me so hard that I would break down, but he won’t let me stop because it helps with my game. Overall, Jake has helped coach me to do my best and revealed to me that good things will come out of hard
