Access to health care is characterized as the timely use of service to achieve the best possible health care outcome. Active-duty military and veterans get their health care through the DOD's military health system, TRICARE, and the VA's health care system, respectively. Discontinuity of care in both those systems does occur. Electronic health records offer the guarantee of limiting fragmentation of care, however the DOD and VA have not yet coordinated their health records.
There are incongruities in health care services in the DOD and VA health care systems. Specifically, women are confronted with some unique stressors, and more research is expected to comprehend issues important to them. Military sexual assault should be addressed in both
