I indeed never thought of myself as an advocate until I attended the seminar with Ken J. Jaffe. The seminar was an eye opener for me. While listening to his speech, I realized, that I’ve been advocating all along in the matters that I do on a daily basis; on behalf of the children in my care and the children in the neighborhood. Various times young parents can be frustrated while dropping off or picking up their children which causes them to speak to their child(s) in an inappropriate manner. However, I always find myself intervening on behalf of the child. I speak to the parents as well and offer the resources that are provided in our childcare facility: so they can read and hopefully try to find a solution as to why they are angry. I also
