I have a chance to participate in the interprofessional team care in an orthopedic unit for my clinical rotation. I got to watch different health care practitioners cooperate with each other to achieve a common goal of better patient outcomes. For example, several healthcare providers were involved in the care of a patient who had a total knee replacement. The physical therapist and the occupational therapist were involved in restoring mobility and maximizing the ability to perform activities of daily life. The nurse coordinated with other health care providers and administered medications and provided comfort care to help patient relieve pain. The pharmacist confirmed, prepared, and suspended necessary medications for the patient. The doctors
