Correspondingly, growing up in a family where a father beats a mother, they just take this model of relationship as the only acceptable. In particular, this affects critical personality factors leading to insecurity, low self-esteem, antisocial personality disorder, or depression; correspondingly, all these brew a conflict and/or discord in intimate relationships. In the long run, the same children grow up to be either perpetrators themselves or victims of IPV.
