“The word “integrity” comes from the Latin integritas, meaning “whole” or “oneness”. People whose behavior is consistent with what they say they honor have this kind of wholeness.” Integrity also often understood as a character with honesty. Its influence has always been distinctly positive, making a tremendous improvement in people and all that they do.
“Integrity is not something a person “has”, and it is not a particular act or activity that one does (or does not do). Oversight relates to a system of checks and balances that limit employees’ and managers’ opportunities to deviate from policies and codes of conduct. Accountability relates to how well the content of workplace decisions is aligned with a firm’s stated strategic direction. Control involves the process of auditing and improving organizational decisions and actions.” Many integrity initiatives have structural features common to compliance-based initiatives: a code of conduct, training in relevant areas of law, mechanisms for reporting and investigating potential misconduct, and audits and controls to ensure that laws and company standards are being met.

A business company should have ethical and legal obligations of the directors and officers for the purpose of the business. Directors of Wells Fargo should be guided by ethical values to oversight for the corporate ethics, which is to increase their competence in a business world. Having integrity will guide managers and employees to make right decisions in handling problems within the company.
