Ever since I was a little girl I liked going to school. I always did my homework on time and my mom and dad always helped me in what they could. I came to Yuma when I was nine years old and I was very fortunate because I didn’t know a word of English but I learned real fast. My parents thought me about responsibility and honesty and told me that these are very important in life no matter what I did or where I went in life. They told me that getting an education was very important. Both of them only went to sixth grade due to the lack of money in their families, but they both got their GED’s as adults. They inspired me because due to all the difficulties they faced they never gave up.

Although I am not working right now I am still motivated to learn and become a good leader. I believe it is not easy being an authentic leader because I will face many challenges but I am sure that I can achieve it. My goal is to finish my education and get a job where I can apply everything I learned. I am really excited because I’ve worked so hard to get my education and I want to know what experiences await me. Despite what life puts my way I know that I will succeed because I have strong morals and values.
I want to be a person who others respect and trust, but I know I have to work hard to earn that. I know that I will face challenges in the process but I will use what I have learned to become a good leader. I know that being a good leader is also about serving others and letting go of the power. I now understand why so many people are not good leaders, it is because they get so caught up in wanting to have control and power over everyone and everything, that they forget that being a good leader is the opposite of that.
