This absence of exposure keeps customers from knowing the full list of ingredients in the product. Even though most chemicals in fragrance are not listed, but the harmful effects behind fragrance are commonly known by the society. According to FDA, fragrance is consisted of various chemicals. Some of the chemicals provide the unique scent, and some of the chemicals directly extract from fossil oil and plants. Some beauty companies produce their own fragrance by mixing different fragrances. Meanwhile, in order to solve and stable the chemicals, the companies are intent to add some solvents, stabilizers and preservatives. These additional substances are not always showed on the label of the product since fragrance is protected as trade secrets.
