Religion refers to the belief in a controlling power of a supernatural being, especially a personal God or gods. There are many religious practices which may include sermons, rituals, festivals, sacrifices, feasts, initiations, funerary services, prayer, music, art, public service, dance and many other aspects of human culture (Batson, 1993). Religions have narratives and sacred histories which ought to be preserved in holy places that mostly aim at giving human life meaning. This paper seeks to examine an issue of importance within my academic discipline. I am supposed to present an effective argument that demonstrates my understanding of the subject, displays my research into its issues, effectively uses source material and reaches logical, substantiated conclusions based on well-organized and subordinated claims. I have chosen my subject to be religion, and that is what I am going to discuss.
In every institution, religion must be acknowledged and given its utmost respect and space. Despite the fact that there is always a freedom of worship, institutions have to take care and enforce measures to check that there is no religious extremism that could cause harm or discomfort among students. In my academic discipline, there are challenges about religion. First, there is no freedom of worship as students are being forced into Christianity.
