It allows telepathy connection between the writer and the audience. Drew made a humorous joke about his parents because it pains him to live in a land with brown eyed people as well as being the only blue eyed being. "You see, I'm the product of a white father I never knew, and an Ojibway woman who evidently couldn’t run fast enough."(85). Moreover, he makes fun of him being half and half. Like having both white and red blood can transform him into pink. If the hue white and red gets mixed the results will be pink. Drew Hayden Taylor compares himself to hue mixing. Which he explained perfectly being raised with one side of his mixture of occasion father and an indigenous mother humorously so that his audience could have a laugh.
