“When God realizes that He has made an error in judgment or that things did not unfold as He supposed, He can change His mind” (Challies). Because God does not know the future he learns just like humans do. If God is learning, then he is also prone to make mistakes due to error in judgement. If God lacks something, then he has room for growth. If God has room for growth, then he has potentiality. If he has potential that would mean he is missing something, which means he would need something; he would have to be made up for parts. For instance, a hurricane that sweeps through Florida would be a seemingly general event that would affect a lot of people. The thing that people miss is that it would not only affect a lot of people, but a lot of individuals. “In that humans were created, there is an individual plan for each person. Everything that God has ever done has been specifically orchestrated in the generality. In other words, in what is seemingly general, God is doing specific things” (Davis). Everything that has happened and will happen have already been calculated into the equation before the existence of the universe. Even what will not happen (like premature death) has been factored through the calibration of negation (Davis). No event is ever isolated, because nothing happens without a reason or a purpose. There is no such thing as a general event to God because there is a reason for everything, even why suffering must take place and what it will accomplish in the end. Therefore, that event is no longer general, it is purposeful. It is purposeful because God values people.
