Wherever humans might find themselves, it is always a human natural instinct to adapt to our surroundings. Adapting to a new surrounding means one might have to adjust or change the way he or she does things in order to fit in or survive. This theory applies to most aspects of our modern society. “I suspect they were all bowing to an unjust reality that required them to tone down their stigmatized identities to get along in life”(Yoshino 294).
