Women are victims of tragic assaults that are overlooked, “...we went to the police station right here, they don’t even come, and they never conducted an investigation when I explained the problem” (Schuller). There is no security in Haiti and people don’t feel safe with their own local authorities. Haitians rights aren 't taken into consideration, they are thrown aside along with their problems. It could seem as if the U.S is taking control of Haiti, but they are simply helping them improve their human rights and economy (U.S).. There is nothing wrong with helping others in need, especially those who are desperate for assistance. The people of Haiti are already suffering enough. They have no security and lack many resources (Schuller). No one deserves to suffer as much as the Haitians
