Before the terrorists attacks on September 11, 2001, the United States was at war with Iraq and had a presence in Saudi Arabia which lead to conflict to terrorist groups and terrorists attacks within the US, but no action was taken that would change American politics, society, or foreign policy. After the attacks, everything changed. The US became much strict in its search for and elimination of terrorism, both within the country and around the world. The events also brought the country together, but at the same time separated the country into parties and groups. We also wanted to spread democracy to prevent the spread and start of terrorism.…

has ever dealt with, the reason why is because of their creative recruiting over social media and online messaging in an attempt to inspire people to turn on their nation, by doing so ISIS can recruit conveniently anywhere in the world. Scott Shane, a writer, claims that “Some merely express anger at American foreign policy or at what they see as mistreatment of Muslims overseas. Others go further, trying to reach Islamic State territory or plotting violence at home" (Scott). This quote explains how ISIS targets the recruits by striking them with persuasion and why they have a sense of hate towards the United States. The ones that find themselves in the thought of turning on their country start to plan violence and even attacks on their country.…

“ A genocide begins with the killing of one man - not for what he has done, but because of who he is” (Kofi Annan). Isis is determined to take control of the world, there main target being the western culture, including their civilization and religious beliefs. Depending on the extremity of the attacks and killings, they are either classified as a genocide if they are more extreme, or questioned if they are not as major. The more extreme attacks and killings, can be proved in many ways as an act of genocide, where other acts are still being questioned. Isis is thought by many as a threat of genocide as other’s think it is just an act of terror.…

What this political cartoon reveals to me is that terrorism is not going away anytime soon. For every terrorist leader that is apprehended, there is another one waiting to take his place. Our reality is that the United States must continually be on guard by monitoring potential terrorists by tracking where they travel to and who they associate with. Unfortunately, we need to do this by staying within the premises of the law. The parody in the cartoon imitates the energizer bunny that it keeps going and going and the battery rolling behind it is the next terrorist that will fuel more attacks.…

Based on what I have read and seen, terrorism is a very tricky problem to deal with. I believe this is why there have only been two different terrorism policies in the present time being the Powell Doctrine first and the Bush Doctrine. My way of thinking towards preventing and countering terrorist groups in the world is right along the lines of the Bush Doctrine. This basically allows the United States government to use every tool in our power to act against possible threats. The Doctrine also says that America will act against threats before they form and start to cause problems.…

ISIS ISIS, the greatest terrorist threat that the world has ever seen, has been able to accomplish what Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups could only dream of because the group has been able to take large swaths of territory throughout both Iraq and Syria and has also been able to inspire others to their cause in order to further their agenda worldwide. ISIS is a truly grave threat as it still continues to hold around a quarter of Iraq and nearly half of Syria. As the group continues to occupy this territory it manages to destabilize the entire region simply due to its presence. Also, as the group has managed to spread worldwide through the use of propaganda, mostly through the means of social media, it has been able to recruit those willing…

One issue I strongly care about is terrorism. Terrorism prevents people from living their everyday lives through instilling fear. Living in New York City where terrorism is unfortunately practiced more frequently, I have experienced its effects. There have been some weeks where I am unable to sleep due to the restless thoughts about potential episodes. Although I was an infant when the tragedy of 9/11 occurred, I know many people who were affected by it and lost loved ones.…
