Improved Essays
Some people say that homosexual marriage is wrong, and that it should not be allowed. Homosexual couples should not be discriminated just because of their sexuality. All humans no matter their sexual preferences “are entitled to certain unalienable rights such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” which includes freedom of choice in relationships. The purpose of the Constitution is to protect the rights of all people. The Constitution also protects freedom of religion and freedom of speech and of the press.
Massachusetts was originally the first state to allow homosexual marriage; however, on June 26, 2015, homosexual marriage was legalized in all fifty states. Sixty one percent of Americans do not agree with homosexual marriage,

Individuals have the right to express themselves and dress how they please. The phrase “do not judge a book by its cover” applies to this because nobody really knows why they dress the way they do. If you see something that you do not agree with, you also have the right to express your feelings, but that does not mean it has to be in a rude way. Some people say that homosexuals should not be allowed to raise children, but why? If you have young kids they do not know the difference. If you teach them from a young age, you teach them love. Gender has nothing to do with raising children no matter what you like. As long as your kids know that you love them and would do anything in the world for them, then there should be no problem. Heterosexuals think homosexuals should not have kids because they are afraid it will cause mental anguish. Mental anguish translates to certain types of suffering that may include distress, anxiety, fright, depression, grief, or trauma. Heterosexuals are most likely thinking that if children see homosexual couples they will think it is okay, and it is in some people’s eyes. Children growing up in a homosexual home could teach them many things. It could teach them how to love unconditionally, how to be brave, empathy, how to listen, and how to not be afraid of things that …show more content…
In fact they have many things in common but they would not know that because of how judge mental people are. Heterosexuals or even people in general, will never understand that love is love and that love wins. As long as you are happy with who you are with and you are happy with who you are, then you should not worry about what people think. There are always going to be heterosexuals around that are going to speak their opinion, but that does not have to affect who you are as a person. We never know, maybe one day homosexuals and heterosexuals will understand one another. If they can both see that no matter their sexuality, they are both humans then maybe the world would be a better place. If people did not always judge people by the way they look, there would be much more peace around the world. There are many reasons why people do not support heterosexuals and there are many people that do. Being a homosexual is hard in this world and those being judged just makes it harder. Some people do not support it because of their religion and their beliefs. What they do not understand is that your sexuality has nothing to do with the way you act. There could be a homosexual and they could be the sweetest person but nobody would know that because they are judging them before they know them and it should not be that

Now, expressing you feel that homosexuality is a sin, is a religious right. But, on the other hand, telling a couple they can’t marry because of it, and making it illegal for gays to marry, is striping homosexuals of their natural rights. In our society, these types of relationships are not acceptable, and even illegal in some states. This branches off of the idea that our nation is accepting, and even promoting, sin against God. There is no reason to believe that the acceptance of gay marriage will lead to the acceptance of other nontraditional relationships. In gay marriage, both people are normally consenting to the relationship. When it comes to bestiality, pedophilia, and incest, there is normally or always no consent.…

Having parents with the same gender doesn 't change who they would be. It would actually teach them something about it like an open mind about who they are, and respect others for who they 're. It doesn’t matter about the parent if having a homosexual parent and a heterosexual parent. They are just the same they also deserve children if they want to adopt a kid. On June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court of the United States declared that same-sex marriage is a protected right of the United States Constitution in all 50 states. Before this decision, gay marriage was only legal in 37 states and Washington DC, but was not allowed in the other thirteen. The public opinion in our country has changed substantially over the past 10 years or so, from 27% approval of same-sex marriage in 1996 to 60% in 2015. Proponents of this controversial topic say that preventing homosexuals from marrying is discrimination as well as unconstitutional, and that same-sex couples should have access to everything that different-sex couples do. Opponents say that opposite-sex marriage has always been the traditional idea…
