Hip hop has made its way into education, politics, as well as many other aspect of everyday life. Hip hop has taken over mainstream not because hip hop is so popular. It’s popularity didn 't come from television, it 's so popular because it 's easy to relate to for many young African American and Caucasian adolescents, as well as it’s relatable to many which is why it has taken off in the world of Academia. I totally agree with Oguntoyinbo about hip hops integration being a great ice breaker for kids from urban neighborhoods. While reading “You Must Learn”: Promoting Hip-hop in Education by David. E. Kirkland he speaks of a Teachers by the name of Craig Kegeler who has already begun implementing hip hop into his teaching curriculum shows me hip hop can be a critical tool at times. The rise hip hop in education is only the beginning if u ask me. Hip hop isn 't new but it 's integration into daily life for many is. Although many don 't see the benefits of Hip Hop as a minor and the study of hip hop just yet but I 'm sure they will. Hip hop as a minor is going to shed light on life in urban communities and I feel that 's what 's truly important the effect it has on the lives of students taking the courses. On the contrary I also believe it will take more then just hip hop to gain a connection with urban contemporary
