It’s been a struggle to make it to ASU, especially being a non-traditional student, however being at ASU as given me a platform to give back to my community. I’ve used our male minority group which I am the VP of to get more people in school and promote higher education. Someone once told me you make a difference from the inside, by using education to get people back in school will give them better opportunities in life so they are not pitted to circumstances where something such as insurance can affect their quality of life. In closing, we’ve put millions of Americans in financial binds and increased health concerns because we have yet to switch to a universal healthcare system. In speaking about my story, I hope I am able to bring awareness to just how much of a burden health coverage is and can affect your life in so many aspects. If we provide health care to everyone we would not only be better off as a nation but we are doing are due diligence in taking care of our own. With so many other democratic countries already offering free healthcare, it’s about time in 2016, we start to make real changes without privileged elites or big business executives fighting something that is aiding millions of
