A career in criminal justice is very time consuming and takes a lot of energy out of one’s life. This field can also be very emotionally draining; one does not really know what obstacles they will face with each day or when those obstacles will come to an end. According to the U.S. Department of Labor (2015a), a career within the Criminal Justice program can be defined as stressful, physically demanding, and very dangerous. Not many people can work in a career field that puts their life in danger every day, however, knowing the positives that come out of possibly saving one’s life is greater than anything else one can experience. Different from a career in the path of criminal justice, a career in forensic science usually begins in a lab. As reported by the U.S. Department of Labor (2015b), careers in the field of Forensic science require one to work in many different conditions and spend many hours in and out of labs and offices. The U.S. Department of Labor (2015b) also reported that a person may be required to travel through different jurisdictions whether it is cities, states, or countries. Both careers will be a continuous path of very long shifts that will be different from the last, yet the work environment of a career in criminal justice might be best due
