The Importance Of Poverty In The Workplace

Poverty has been a struggle for centuries worldwide. Often when people think of poverty they think of poor, no money, lower income, but poverty is not just a financial state. Poverty affects every aspect of a person’s life, including healthcare.
In today’s world many believe that the internet is a “Source of Truth”, and as many of us know that simply is not the case. To evaluate this website the user would need to see is there a contact for this organization or author? Do the hyperlinks work and if so is the information on the hyperlinks supported by the author or organization? How much information is given to us about donations? Are they a registered organization? When the user sees the layout the home page they will notice that the colors are not too bright and the template is limited to three main colors, light green, light orange and one shout out in red for donations. The graphics are limited to one main picture and a few thumbnails, with a statement “Health Poverty Action works to strengthen poor and marginalized communities in their struggle for health. We prioritise those missed out by almost everyone else.” This website also offers drill down links, and thumbnails for Features and News. Across the top banner they have drop down list that the user can hover over and it displays a list of one to seven subjects for the user to select. As an example on the “About Us” tab they have the option to select “What We Do”, “History”, “The People’s Health Movement”, “Accounts and Reports”, “Our Team” and “Jobs”, each of these are hyperlinks and will take the user to a new page that offers more detailed information on the subject they have selected. In addition to more information, the link of the home page banner will now change in color from green to orange giving the user that ability to know exactly what page of information they are on. There was a noted spelling error on the home page on the opening statement, the word prioritise should be spelt as prioritize. Another concern would be about the donations section, nowhere on this page or drill down pages is it listed how much of a donation goes directly to the organizations needs and not administration. If the user selects the label “On the Ground” they are taken to a page that list issues they work on but again these are more hyperlinks for they to drill down into. At the bottom of the webpage the user will see that this website is a registered website for charity with a charity number, when the charity number was googled it was listed the Charity Commission website and has recently changed its name from Health Unlimited to Health Poverty Action. A good check was to test the links as they all worked yet much drilling down is required from the homepage, this possibly causing cognitive overload for the user, maybe offering too much information and links on some subjects and not enough on others. The search button on the top of the page is a nice feature, but it does return so much information, again possibly causing cognitive overload for the user. For the purpose of reliability this source is reliable and offers a great deal of information, it could use a little re-structuring to alleviate the
