True information is very important these days because everyone is trying to maximize their profits even at the cost of a person’s life and may say things that are partially true and withhold information as well. One very good example of this is Tomljenovic and Shaw’s article on Gardasil vaccine that all school students in Canada receive; this vaccine provides protection against cervical cancer and thus, it is made mandatory for female students to receive the shot in order to continue attending school – that is what all female students are aware of. However, what they are ignorant of is all the controversy surrounding it, and the fact that Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) claims that “most of the recipients do not even need protection” (Tomljenovic and Shaw 674). The students are also unaware that evidence are lacking with regards to this vaccine being mandatory for school (Tomljenovic and Shaw 674). As that is the case, it would be ideal if the female students were further educated regarding this vaccine, its components, its side effects, its advantages along with disadvantages and be presented with actual evidence to support all their statements.
