Personal Narrative: My Hardships In My Life

Some bigger than others, but we all have hardships. Growing up I faced many hardships. My parents divorced when I was thirteen years old. The most difficult adversity I have faced in my life has not ended yet. I thought as I got older I wouldn’t care so much, but from time to time I wonder what my family would be like if my parents were still together today. I miss the family vacations and times we laughed just because. I looked up to my older brother and sister for being able to cope with the divorce. No one, not even myself thought I’ll be attending a college in North Carolina. North Carolina A&T is an empowering college that guides young black to student to success. I would enjoy A&T campus because of the variety of students, the family atmosphere, traditional values, and the load of opportunities. I do not believe college life for me would be complete without being an aggie . At A&T my main goal is to obtain an education in sports medicine. Going to college is the most important thing to my parents. By going to college, not only have I made my parents proud but I fulfilled the goals that I’ve set for myself. To be able to look back on what I’ve encountered and still be able to smile is a blessing. Often when asked to visualize or establish a plan for your entire future all at once, it becomes overwhelming. North Carolina isn’t as horrendous as I thought it’ll be. I visualized North Carolina to be a small country town that would destroy my life. Now I consider North Carolina a hometown outside my hometown. I’ve been told to walk by faith and not by sight.
