Gun rights have been a fierce political issue in the United States for decades. Ever since urbanization began and firearms have become deadlier, faster, and more sophisticated, there has been a tenuous divide over what the 2nd Amendment truly means. The Second Amendment reads “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Some have taken this to mean that only a “Militia” aka the military should have firearms, others believe it means that the Founders enshrined individual gun ownership rights into the constitutions. Generally, however, it has been accepted that individuals may own guns. The real debate is over what type of guns are covered and
